The measures I use, like financial statement ratios, provide a starting point, rather than a conclusion. As for drilling deeper to study the company (good pun there borrowing from you), I think that's where the real gems lie. I must admit I'm only starting to understand more the technical aspects of mine construction and how they affect costs. I will need to learn more and you are one of a few who seem to know a good deal in these aspects.
I feel like I am doing a by distance education on mining company analysis!
