I'ts hard to say what actually happened.

I have a friend who gave evidence at the RC as a victim of abuse by the Brothers now this guy was a straight a's student and turned into an extremely violent man. "He used to collect drug debts for a bikie gang".  He doesn't have a problem saying no but was abused on a number of occasions as a 12 yr old by a teacher which totally screwed him up.  Thankfully giving evidence has been somewhat cathartic for him and he's slowly getting himself back together.

Funny thing , I ran into a schoolmate I hadn't seen for 43 years a couple of months ago, first thing he starts talking about is the RC and all the dodgy Brothers we had at school but for me I only knew of 2 homosexual lay teachers from my school. One did get a bit too friendly and was a bit touchy feely on one occaision with me but I just moved away. It wasn't an issue for me then and I never thought about it until we spoke, but I was a strong willed kid and probably not the victim type predators were looking for.
