I don't doubt there are problems, especially up near border regions. However, I experienced none of this in the Namtu or Lashio ares.

I'm sure some of the Shan criminal elements have their 'turf' that they would fight for but can anyone imagine the Myanmar government not sticking up for their 'turf' in the form of Bawdwin?  I can't. All I have experienced is the governments support for the project.  I sleep well at night based on this investment.

A few other comments above are very valid as well.
