I overheard a old chap with South African accent in Mitre 10 of all places mention to one of the customers that he used to work in the mines. So I chased him and got chatting. Turned out he'd worked all over the place including West Wits. His comment was that with modern mining techniques there's a lot of gold there. Said the risk is on the political side as the mine itself is a cracker! Am going to corner him again next time I'm there and interrogate him further. Good reason to go look at BBQs...
