I believe Chinese people are very conscious of black market fakes, as mpacman says it is great marketing. Even if those tins are legit, the Chinese know they only copy goods that are worthy of copying. Therefore if Chinese families don’t trust that source in China they will seek it from a source they can trust, the daigou in Australia.
