The price of palladium held above $1,400 an ounce on Thursday as a deficit in the market continues to boost prices after a PGM market report showed demand is expected to outstrip supply by almost 1 million ounces in 2019 due to stricter emissions standards. Palladium, which is currently the most valuable precious metal, is used in auto catalysts for gasoline-powered vehicles. Historically, Palladium reached an all time high of 1414.50 in February of 2019 and a record low of 78.25 in August of 1991.
