A Lesson in Long Term Investment: Woodside Keeps on Giving, page-7

Back in 1981 as a callow youth I was heading o/s, sold my one and only only asset, a ford XC ute, and invested the proceeds via Ord Minnett stockbroking with Woodside Petroleum Ltd, then a junior explorer with some 'interesting' prospects offshore in north west WA. Yes it was Woodside Petroleum Ltd then as it remains but hasn't everything else changed...Still have original paper Scrip (museum pieces) and the shares which have been added to significantly over the years. Price then: $1.78. Thought at the time it was a good investment and not much to date has changed that view. However here we are in a de-carbonising world and the future of carbon based fuels is under the spotlight but while considering 'where to' with Woodside and other energy investments we hold, there is re-assurance in the fact that LNG and recovered condensates are widely considered to have a solid future.
We'll be sticking to our Woodies for a while yet.
