Danone, French company, owns a new processing plant, 2018, Auckland, doubling it's IF production  to China and another processing plant in Balclutha, (South Island),  owns Aptamil Gold, Aptamil and Karicare.
New Zealand-made Karicare infant formula was  pulled out of China, more than two years after the brand took a hammering following the Fonterra botulism scare.  Karicare was a top selling brand in China, until this happened. They sued Fonterra for a 1 billion dollars. They won their case, and  got paid millions not the 1 billion.
 6.47 million dairy cows in NZ,   Australia  has 1.6 million dairy cows. Sheep, goat, and plant milk are on the rise.
At present, there are 15 New Zealand manufacturers exporting infant formula to China.Synlait, Fonterra and Yashili were among the first to have their recipes registered with China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA).
