PRESS RELEASE
THE LIST OF SHADY CHARACTERS BEHIND THE CABALLUS PROPOSAL GROWS LONGER AND LONGER
A press report published yesterday - February 6, 2019 (Bougainville Mining Coup Engineered by Former Australian Defence Minister Leaked Document Suggests) https://ramumine.wordpress.com/2019/02/06/bougainville-mining-coup-engineered-by-former-australian-defence-minister-leaked-document-suggests/
claimed the Caballus proposal was first suggested by David Johnston an ex Australian Defence Minister, who was dumped by his own Liberal Party colleagues, losing his Senate seat. Mr Johnston recently teamed up with another serial entrepreneur Nik Zuks. Johnston is Chairman of Kalia, a Nik Zuks created company, which was granted exploration licences in the north of Bougainville on the back of many failed promises by Mr Zuks.
Mr Philip Miriori, Chairman of the Speical Mining Lease Osikaiyang Landowners Association said, “McGlinn, Zuks and Johnston are just a few in a very long list of lightweights who initially promised the Autonomous Bougainville Government (“ABG”) the world but end up delivering nothing but trouble.”
Mr Miriori said, “Previously, we even had the ABG promoting a notoriously abusive miner from the Philippines, Mr Eric Gutierrez but they appear to have seen the light there. I was not surprised to read that Zuks and Johnston are likely behind this Caballus nonsense.”
“Another controversial figure - Belden Namah, a known associate of McGlinn and Zuks, is also said to be involved in the Caballus proposal to steal our land, our minerals and all our rights and protections.” Mr Daveona said.
Belden Namah is a highly controversial figure who was in the Papua New Guinea military. He was involved in the aftermath of the Sandline affair in 1997. Namah was arrested and with others charged with sedition for their approach to the Prime Minister; the public prosecution argued that they had been attempting to obtain a pardon from the Government for the military personnel involved in the near-coup of the Sandline affair. He was tried, convicted and jailed with his fellow officers in late 1997. He was paroled in 2003. In January 2014, it was reported that the head of police, Tom Kulunga, issued an order for Namah's arrest, accusing Namah of having threatened him. Namah was also referred to the Public Prosecutor by the Ombudsman Commission for alleged misconduct in office, April 2015. Mr Namah faces at least 16 categories of misconduct, including failure to declare his election expenses and failure to acquit public funds among others.

Mr Miriori said, “There seems to be a growing list of very shady people involved in this attempt to steal the mineral wealth of Bougainville, at the expense of all of us little people, at least that is what they think. Mr McGlinn has to come clean now, and tell us why people like Beldan Namah, with his involvement in the Sandline affair, are involved in this brazen plot, to again take advantage and hurt the Customary Owners of Bougainville, to strip us bare again.”
