The mining industry would greatly benefit from electric powered machinery. I was at a site visit at one of the underground gold mines in WA late last year. Pretty spooky being 900m beneath the surface, speaking to one of the bogger operators, the key risks down there are lack of ventilation and fire from diesel operated equipment. Introduce EVs and you significantly reduce emissions and fire hazards. No brainer really.
