What's ambiguous about the buyback? They've clearly stated their plans for usage of it and their rationale for implementing it in the first place. General market conditions mainly driven by US markets.

There are still mixed thoughts on what the S&P500 will do. Whether volatility will continue. Look at the moves in the gold price for example. That's a reaction to macro factors in the US economy in particular.

Keeping the buyback in place (but paused), allows the company to use it if they see a real need. At the moment they aren't using it. They don't see a need.
