Share prices are too easily controlled by low volume trades. The plain fact is over 99 per cent of LKE’s shares do not trade on any given day. So how representative of ‘true value’ is the recent slide from a high of 14c to 6c? In the longer term will this slide matter? Maybe it’s caused by the new Australian supply entrants creating temporary oversupply but who can say for sure? The latest industry outlook reports seem slightly bearish for 2019 with a build up to potential undersupply to strong demand by 2021. Now could be shown to have been a good time to buy in a long term view. Who wants to trade every day anyway? The slide will matter if LKE ends up like MRD or CAD. I might have to get out if this continues, or average down. How would an across the board minimum $500 trading parcel requirement go I wonder? And what if a minimum percentage of issued capital had to be traded at a certain price before a share price could go to the next price level either up or down? This would restrain ‘market freedoms’ but it is evidently not a free market anyway for many reasons. These are matters for reform and I am taking this up with the relevant authorities. Reform of this sort might hold some sellers back from artificially lowering (and raising) the share price. But you know if buyers see value no one’s stopping them buying in. The spectre of a capital raise may be hovering and that would be putting downwards pressure in the share price. Let’s hope it’s not like the AVZ one. Why not just activate those convertible notes at 10c anyway? Does anyone out there want this Kachi stuff? Or are entities killing the share price do they can offer a 2c takeover offer in 6 months time ? Can’t see shareholders approving that but then again get out if it seems like a good idea. At the end of the day shares are like chips at the Casino. It’s impossible to point to true intrinsic value. Dividends or the prospect of then don’t explain high share prices. The only value shares have that I can see is their potential to be traded at different prices and that they are in effect another de facto agreed currency. Why do the different prices occur- so that more diffterent prices can occur. Cynical but I’m open to hearing about why people think shares possess value including ‘intrinsic value’. Perception rules the roost. Sure the ability to raise capital ‘helps us all’ through creating industry and a high share price can attract capital but do can a low share price.
