I hear you Elee.
My "financial adviser" a complete parasite had me in BT, Navigator and other commission paying funds.

This is after I left a major media company executive super.
I went to REST, wife to Unisuper industry funds (she had work at a uni too).

We are in a good position because of the super;
and our excellent personal accountant.

SMSF was tried for a while, but did not suit our circumstances.
Had lunch with accountant today.
