I’ll be honest, I was expecting (and hoping) a military strongman type would be appointed PM in an effort to stamp out the insurgency in the northern & eastern border areas.
I was surprised to see an economist chosen instead. And one that wastes no time establishing ‘regional developmwnt’ as a key political priority. I’m not sure what this means in the current context.
Following the handover, I hope there’s no sudden regulatory interventions in the mining space like were seeing in other African jurisdictions.
