Hello. I've just bought into Resmed.
It was a bit of a knee jerk purchase based, which I did on impulse when I save a 12% decline in the share price. The company looks really strong, so I thought I'd leap first and research more deeply after later (which is putting the cart before the horse, but hey! How many company's can boast the revenue and profit figures of Resmed?).
I have a question a thought this forum might be able to help with. Resmed are listed on the NYSE. From my understanding, what I have purchased on the ASX is not a full Resmed share. It is actually a CDI (CHESS Depository Interest).
As a result, from the Quarterly update, the dividend we receive here in Australia is 1/10th the dividend of a NYSE share. i.e. A NYSE share holder will receive $0.37 USD. But we here in Oz will receive $0.037 USD (3.7 cents).
Is that correct?
