Well I can beat that sci even if i do back my comp picks i still bail at a loss. Found it tough to make $ this financial year. 16/17 17/18 were totally different (thank goodness) Funny how bailing at a certain point helps you understand your risk profile better? I can take a 10% slide after entry but when its nudging 15% my gut (or probably anxiety level) is telling me to run for the exits.
Same thing happened this last week. Been waiting for announcements due "early January" 15% down arrived, went back to check the reasons I bought in, 5-10 days away from app C, etc etc. Rang the business and they answer then immediately hang up three times over. Its recovered but I'm pretty sure that's due to 5 day avg $/vol is coming in fast IMO.
I've bailed from two others under similar "gut feelings" as well. 15% is my tipping point! Just seems to be hard to find winners. I'm thinking that I either change the way I play or take a rest from the game.
Best thing is though is I went back and checked those I bailed from and found that the 15% loss I took, one would currently have been down 35% now and the other more than 90%. So Pumping trust your gut! It's weird though that even knowing you were right to exit doesn't balance out the disappointment that you got drawn in in the first place.
Thanks Ammie, diver dan and all you guys and gals out there in STT land. Love your work. Pumping
