It seems the only way the southern states will ever get reasonably priced gas is for Narrabri to proceed.
If it goes ahead then Santos and the southern states businesses, government and economy win.
If it doesn't go ahead then Santos is in the same place it is now, the Nimby's/alarmists win and the southern states businesses, economy etc all suffer.
classic Alarmist v Business stoush. The only loser really is the businesses and people that use and need gas.
Given Santos has again got a somewhat stretched balance sheet and plenty of other growth options (PNG, Barossa etc) I don't think they are too worried if Narrabri doesnt go ahead in the next 5 years.
