If the polls are correct, Labor will walk into power in the Lower House. The Senate will be a different story as I see a rise of the cross benches being the third force in decision making. By cross benches I mean parties led by Hansen, Palmer, Bernadi & Lynch - all conservative leaning. I think Labor have got Buckleys hope of getting some of their crap legislation through the Senate. (Bring on a double dissolution).
It is too soon to be promoting doom and gloom for the demise of franking credits. The likes of Geoff Wilson who manages the WAM funds has thousands of signatures on a petition to renounce such legislation. The public backlash will be enormous. I can understand voters wanting to boot out a dysfunctional government but history shows voters seek checks and balances in the Senate. It is rare for a government to have the numbers in both houses of parliament.
There will be ways and means of getting around tax saving measures, that's why the millionaires employ savvy accountants.
