I don't really think that was the point of the post, more that - what we've see regards partnerships could be it for now. Meanwhile, work goes on and they've got to be paid somehow. I'm also of the opinion that management in most companies don't feel especially beholden to the shareholders beyond what is needed to finance the company - with the exception being institutional investors who get the red carpet treatment from time to time.
There's always some ambiguity(deliberate?) in announcements. For instance, from the AGM presentation in November . . . Multiple discussions with potential partners initiated & progressing . . . Multiple discussions and progressing can vary wildly, depending on interpretation. Those multiple discussions could be quite a few or not very many at all.
