@Matricks , i'll try to answer that from my perspective. perhaps a barometer of many in the same boat.
for me, Vanadium in magnetite is a something that i was not completely familiar with. But took the understanding that higher grade concentrate, and good length intersections meant that you end up with a large deposit which would yield a decent concentrate for better economics in downstream processing.
But, its not like a gold intersection, where g/t x intersection of the headline number represents the true economy.
This mass recovery is the key to upfront economics. (especially if trying to DSO concentrate), perhaps less an issue in a full scale development.
And i think the registry has changed hands quickly as many have taken the headline numbers as the economic indicators, (like gold) but only later grasping it is not the true picture of at least DSO viability. (I did post many times that PUR would need to complete the scoping to reveal the full gambit) And PUR wont know one way or the other until that is done.
Mass recovery. Think of it like this. You have magnetite with vanadium in it. But it is contained within host rock. Now think of a jar of sugar, and you put a tea spoon of coffee into it. Now you want the coffee back. But to do so, you need to process the whole jar of sugar. The Magnetite/ with vanadium in it, is the coffee and the host rock is the sugar.
I'd rather there be 30-40% coffee in there, than 2.5-5% (koit) and whatever Airijoke turns out to be, was not prepared to take on that risk at this point, realising the significance , and thankful for this forum in all its parts, for the discussion especially on the koit thread that was able to air these issues.
I would assume the volume turnovers is a swap between the uninformed, who are buying the headline number as if it were a gold intersection, rather than the more opaque situation that applies to Vanadiumn/ magnetite, and scoping study will reveal that clarity.
GLTA. I hope that scoping clarity reveals a winner. But i hedge with my profits in hand.
