Just to be clear, there is no granted patent, just a pending IP right. An application - which has drawn the line in the sand around the date by which it will be assessed against prior art and from which it can claim ownership - once the IP is granted.
at the moment the application is an international application. National phase in countries of interest will occur around June of this year, I.e 18 months after filing of the international application.
If you look carefully at the international file, you will see that the international prior art search is relatively clear which is great. Mostly A category documents which are considered background knowledge only. Only one has been cited in category X. This is only against dependent claim 17 and not the broad claims.
although each jurisdiction will present its own challenges on what is allowable and can raise new prior art, this very clear report at the international stage is very heartening.
