Yeah nah. You think I'm from the climate gang but I'm not. I'm coming from a more engineering, common sense angle if anything. The fact that we can reduce pollution is just the cream on the top.
By moving to renewable energy we will be shifting from a finite resource that shapes the way we have industrialised.
Moving to an abundant renewabe source means that we will never run out. That also means that we can build it on a scale that will make it very cheap and very flexible. So those things we can't do now because of the energy cost will become possible.
Think about that for a moment.
At the same time, instead of burning a valuable resource that took million of years to accumulate, we get to keep it and use it many times over.
The secondary but very important benefit is that we stop polluting the atmosphere beyond it's natural pollution. Good for us, good for the enviroment.
It's a no brainer.
