Look at NBN - still born - & 5G will put the last nail in its coffin - and all for a $52B spend.
Then same will happen here. Solar cell need replacing every say 15-20 years - L Batteries every 10 years.
I love how passionately you hate the Arabs in paying your hard earned dollars for oil (even though you would probably not say that - you will be thinking it).
However, you will be replacing one drug for another & once on the tread mill will not be able to go back.
At this stage your cobalt that is required for your environmentally sound appliance comes from DRC were it is mined by 7 year old children in undergrond mines by hand for 50c at hour. Just so that the greenies movement can feel smug about saving that planet at the cost of a few irrelvant lives.
Don't buy your Apple or Samsung or Tesla unless they can prove that the Cobalt is mined in a sound manner. At the moment if you own one of these products then the blood of these children killed in the mining is dripping down your arms.
Guess what that simple question is TOO hard for this mega companies to answer.
Our current tech is equivalent to computers in the 50's where they took up a whole room for 5Mb (NOT Gb).
Your saying build the infastructure for the current tech which will look nothing like what we currently have in 10 or 20 years, but you are will to have the Australian public shoulder the load & do in again in for the next gen that comes along.
But don't let the facts get in the way of any rational argument to the contrary.
