Hi jacko I was just reading about Iron Bridge ....
Seems Fortescue is running a bit late with it’s decision there :
This is from November 16, 2018 https://thewest.com.au/business/min...set-to-begin-high-grade-output-ng-b881021365z
“Mr Forrest confirmed the company was still working to enhance the numbers and eliminate risk on its Iron Bridge magnetite project near Port Hedland with an announcement expected before the end of the year.
However, he said it would have to be a “spectacular Fortescue-style investment or we’re not going to do it”.
The 7.9-billion tonne project is a joint venture with Taiwan’s Formosa Group and China’s Baosteel.”
-But FMG not so slow about twitching the Pilbara lace curtains for a view of it’s competitors’ back yards :
......“Ms Gaines said she was surprised, like everyone else, by BHP’s recent runaway train derailment. “We’re very confident in our ability to control our trains,” she said.”
(Poor old BHP seems to have become a bit of a joke . For others also not averse to being sidetracked, here is a comprehensive story on the wreck: https://www.createdigital.org.au/bhp-remotely-derailed-runaway-train/)
LITHIUM POTENTIAL ?
You mentioned lithium the other day and I have been doing some reading on that too ;
Another potential project we might have dibs on is Stage 2 of Pilbara Minerals mine ....
I am fairly certain NRW did some small scale work there already although they awarded the main contract for PLS Stage One to RCR Tomlinson..
Meanwhile NRW got Altura, just down the road .
RCR went broke while we performed to acclaim all round, and NRW has already been factored in to :
ALTURA’S Stage 2 Development Plans:
https://alturamining.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/1796168.pdf
“Notable progress which will provide a strong footing for Stage 2 includes the following:
• The purchase of a 320-man camp within a 20-minute drive of the mine
• Commenced construction on Stage 1 in April 2017
• Mining Proposal approved
• Agreements in place with Town of Port Hedland and Shire of East Pilbara covering necessary road infrastructure upgrades
• Major equipment installed or being installed, pieces such as HPGR, Crushing and Screening Plant and Ball Mill
• NRW selected as the mining contractor
• Mining of waste for construction and stockpiling of ore has taken place
• QUBE selected for transport and logistics for the product”
As far as Pilbara Minerals (PLS) Stage Two goes, it was announced it had been approved on November 12, 2018
https://www.australianmining.com.au...advance-into-pilgangoora-stage-two-expansion/
“Pilbara Minerals anticipates the final investment decision to conclude this quarter, as it continues working with bondholders and offtake partners.”
