Some investors like make believe. I have to admit I've also fallen for it in the small cap space. Lost 98% of my money on one micro cap VRI. Truth is when you invest in these small caps, it's the wild west. Everyone is mates, the brokers are mates with the people with money and the directors who go from one small cap to the next. Quite a cynical view of things but the good thing is that the ASX and ASIC are taking a much harder line on most of this nonsense. Which is over the long run going to be great for all us investors.
