Thank you for proving my point geo This "background" says absolutely nothing except "Ryan Mount has done a lot of stuff because he's important. His background is super 'extensive'." Really? Working where? Doing what? I also have "an extensive background in Australian and international financial markets", I don't think that qualifies me to jump into a small cap as CEO and grant myself an 800,000 salary.
It's so extensive that there isn't a single mention of any other company he has ever been affiliated with. Similar to every Axiom announcement in the past five years, it's a pile of fluff that literally says nothing.
Below is a pretty standard CEO bio that actually cites a professional history, as an example. Note the specific citations of companies and projects he has worked on. Ryan's bio lacks this, because he has no prior experience. "Extensive experience in financial markets and 'corporate advisory'" literally says nothing.
This isn't about bagging RM and I'll probably be moderated. I'm just bringing light to the simple fact that prior to Axiom, Ryan had literally no experience running a company. It's obvious he's learning as he goes.
"[Mr X] was appointed chief executive officer of [XXX] in 2013 and chief executive of the Copper & Coal group in February 2015. He led the transformation of this group, delivering a step-change in both safety and cash performance while reshaping the portfolio to focus on a core of the highest-quality assets. He also had responsibility for two growth projects, Oyu Tolgoi in Mongolia and Resolution in the US, both of which saw significant progress during his tenure. Prior to joining [XXX], [Mr X] spent more than 15 years working in various roles across Europe, South East Asia, India and the US. He covered a wide range of operational and functional positions for the aluminium, bauxite and steel industries and notably served as group director, Strategy, for Tata Steel Group from 2007 to 2011."
I bit the bullet today and got out. Lost some change but participating in this forum over the past few weeks has been an eye opening reminder to why I basically ignored Axiom all during 2018. I hope it turns profitable for everyone holding on, sincerely. I would suggest using your vote at the AGM opposed to allowing the board to use all of the proxies to do whatever they want (which is basically what happens every year) and try to change the leadership. Look for someone who has actually worked in the industry broadly, not just built up an island piggy bank and created a fabricated fairy tale that he's the only person who understands the business environment of the Solomon Islands. It's simply not true.
