Well just to let you know the sp and the number of shares on issue actually sets the mc.
The difference is if more shares are issued and the share price stays the same the mc will go up - really a fault reading as this doesnt increase share holder value. If the so goes up then so does the mc so imo the sp is what most share holders look at, as the market cap can be increased by issuing additional shares without increasing the sp, however the mc either goes up or down depending on what the sp does
