Labor had lost control, could not get money bills through Parliament, so effectively any other party which can prove that they can govern will be sworn in by the GG
Even the Army was gearing up to take over the parliament to stop Whitlams one man band
What Labor did which was despicable, they did not accept the referees decisions and started a hate campaign against the office of the GG and destroyed any confidence that they public had in the GGs office
Socialist/Communist parties throughout the world NEVER accept the decision of the referee or the people and fall into a guerilla warfare mode rather than do what is required by our system -- be a party in opposition and respect the people
