Happy January the First to everybody with unmitigated morning cheerfulness
(Only 9.45 am here, and if you are not up to it go hang out with @sailorgirl’s delightful morning after crowd in the coffee queue)
.....And yes there were fireworks as the new year was conceived, and the old one went out with a bang .
And yes, as flagged, I have put the hog back in Hogmany*.
...Moreover in a remarkable NWH-specific coincidence, he flaunts Braveheart facepaint **
(Braveheart has been an unofficial HC NWH mascot since our 2018 Curragh Coal contract*** .)
He is also here to symbolise cultural integration, heralding the approach of February 5 - the (lucky) Chinese year of the pig.
A lucky 2019?
I maintain confirmation bias in this direction for NRW Holdings and possibly some others.
This thinking is not based on Chinese Lunacy;
The rampant-kilted Hogmany Hog with all his other symbolic associations **** indicates NWH’s real status and potential within the ‘Boar Market’.
This lesser known element of a Bear market ( also known as the ‘Yogi’ market) pounces on companies full of intrinsic value that are temporarily handicapped by bear fever.
*Thousands of people gather in Edinburgh, in Scotland, every year for a big parade, food and fireworks. They are celebrating Hogmanay - which is a Scottish word that means 'new year'. Hogmanay celebrations take place all over Scotland and lasts for three days, beginning at the end of December and ending on January 2nd.

**From the NWH Inventory of Obscure Coincidences and Quirky Facts:
Australian actor , Mel Gibson’s, movie Braveheart grossed $210 million at the box office and contained a battle sequence filmed on Curragh Plain
The film was released in May (1995). The NRW Curragh $210 million extension to contract was also announced in May (2018)
This means Mel was possibly filming, on that Curragh Plain, in 1994 concurrent with NRW Holdings being founded in Kalgoorlie in 1994! https://nrw.com.au/about-us/our-history/
