Hi dunjo, I thought going with the close on Dec 31 is easier. I don't think it will make that much difference and the bragging rights will be nowhere near as impressive compared to the jersey holders in Freehold's comp.
@Malaga, that's ok. There's no pressure to enter. I'm also thinking the best stock for 2019 will be a biotech. Mostly because they are the best for spikes, as a generalisation, and because for this comp, they don't need to hold their gains, which also generally fits biotechs. I need to do some research over the weekend to find which one I think will be a flyer next year. I think the financial year competition where the winner is the stock with the greatest gain on June 30 is a much tougher competition, definitely in terms of ending up with a half decent result.
