What cost do you ascribe to rail transport? If Canyon don't have to pay to build the rail they'll have to pay for the capital in the operating cost won't they?

The CBIX site you quote from has an average capesize freight rate of about US$2 per tonne per 1000 nautical miles (Aug - Dec 2018). At 12,000 nautical miles from Douala to Shandong how do you get a freight cost of $16.60 per tonne? All of the other rates you quote are light to varying degrees. Don't forget to allow for moisture content when calculating the freight rate.

I reckon bauxite running 50% alumina and 2% silica is worth $63.50 per dry tonne, not $69 and in China about $62.50 per wet tonne at 5% moisture.

They didn't announce new plateaux of high grade bauxite. They announced that they had found high grade bauxite samples on untested plateaux.

Beneficiation may work.
