A DMTC project team has won a National Innovation Award at the international Land Forces 2018 Exposition in Adelaide for its development of a field-deployable, handheld diagnostic device.
The device will enable medical professionals to rapidly identify and treat life-threatening diseases through a diagnostic system that can detect and differentiate between multiple infectious disease agents within a single test cartridge at the point of care.
Industry partners Lumos Diagnostics (a wholly-owned subsidiary of medical technology firm Planet Innovation), Anteo Technologies and research partner Deakin University are collaborating on the project.
