Thanks for the info. Being a consumer, I am used to specifying how much I am spending and get an invoice or something made up for that amount but it appears in this case you just send the money without telling them how much you're sending. 

Yes i was surprised to see the wording where they said send the money soon as possible because it can close early. Im still in early stages of investing so getting 1500 without selling any valuable shares is easy but 15k not so much. I have the difficult decision of selling SHL I own but as others pointed out I might get locked if price goes higher or if SPP closes very early. Luckily I bought some NST shares (gold) the other day and if Fed meeting goes badly, I can sell them (at a small profit) to get some money towards the SPP and I am considering selling all my SHL shares so I can get a decent chunk of more than 10k on the SPP.

Thanks for all the info again - gives me peace of mind. I live in NZ but apparently ASB securities can organize payment to Bpay from my Australian currency account which is neat.
