It's possibly been superceded by today's trading halt, with announcement to follow, but did anyone else see a contradiction between "This will provide the Company enough heavy machinery for mining and loading of the planned shipments for the first half of calendar year 2019" and the absence (at that time) of any substantial explanation about the basis for these "planned shipments" ?
But what would I know? I've spent only four years in exploration and technical development of open-cut mining on relatively undeveloped islands in the western Pacific Ocean.
Rusty, while I like a lot of your logic, I do feel the need to remind you that to get even a small "fleet" of mining equipment to an isolatacific island does not happen overnight. You don't go to a supermarket, pick a few trucks, drill rigs and bulldozers off the shelf, put them in a paper bag, swipe your card, and take them home with you. They have to be sourced, ordered, sometimes built to specification, signed off, paid for, and shipped from a foreign country. This all takes time... months of time... at least... often longer.
I have watched my own shares drop in value from 31 cents each to their present value, all the while waiting for the "Nickel Eclipse" to occur, and the imminent announcement that would bring about the rise in the share price that would see me happily frollicking in the green. The gleeful anticipation of this gradually transitioned through disappointment, anxiety and despair to resignation, long ago. So I've been skeptical of a lot of the company's utterances and actions and legal and financial dealings myself, but I DO understand how primitive, and isolated, is the environment they are working in. I also understand, because I have worked in it, how complex and time consuming cross-cultural negotiations with tribal Melanesian land owners can be; how easy it is for misunderstandings to occur, and how difficult and delicate undoing those misunderstandings can be. I have also seen for myself how primitive and sparsely equipped even ministerial offices can be in Pacific Island countries. We live in very different worlds... with very different expectations and standards.
Like so many shareholders, I HOPE that the price will pick up again... eventually. I also HOPE that I will get the opportunity to buy more shares so as to average down my price before it starts to pick up, so that it won't have to rise quite as high before I break even. Maybe, with the suspension and announcement due later this week, I have already left it too late. I just hope not. Some modest capital gain and maybe even some dividend income eventually, will be a happier load to carry into retirement than a large wad of shares I originally paid more than 30 cents each for.
