It is all about getting the oil to flow......see link and relevant cut and paste, which discusses how sand screens improve well performance. In particular, the story talks about ceramic sand screens.
I do not know if GGX is planning to use ceramic screens or older style metal screens....the main point here is to what extent, screens will increase flow. NOTE from the story, the increase in flow from existing wells were 100 b/d, - and following deployment of screens.... to 2,500 b/d.
If these screens work in Cebu for our company, and I think they will, investors are sitting on an absolute bonanza here. Am more than happy, if they can achieve a sustained 800 b/d. (The company owns 2 drill rigs and would be able to produce oil from multiple wells).
Crude at A$85 barrel - No tax until all costs are recovered, so at say 800 b/d from one well ... that probably means annual profit of A$15m.
A very exciting time coming up, as flow testing takes place early next year.
.........Formation sand production is a persistent challenge for oil and gas producers, and the ability to control it is crucial to a well’s short-term and long-term economic viability.

NORTH SEA DEPLOYMENT
The robust downhole sand control drove a huge increase in production: prior to installation of the ceramic sand screens, the wells were producing only 100 b/d; post-deployment, production shot up to 2,500 b/d
Petronas also commissioned 3M ceramic sand screens to revive wells offshore Malaysia.
