Sorry mate - we get so many uninformed anti-nuclear trolls popping their heads in on the U company threads.. like you say you're well versed in radiation but you talk about the destruction reactors can wreak - which is a pretty hyperbolic and inflammatory thing to say, no? I mean we all know that's one of the primary myths that's been used to suppress nuclear power (and thus get us in the awful environmental jam we're in now).

As for why the SP and U spot are where they are - it's a pretty well understood story now at this stage. Massive oversupply post Fukushima with all the Japanese plants shut down and uncertainty over the ones in Germany, France and the US.

As for what happens next - well supply has been hugely curtailed (Cameco, Paladin, Katatomprom, underfeeding & suspension of US military supply) then on the demand side Japan is slowly but surely restarting theirs. France has extended their "early shutdowns" by 10 years. China, Russia, India, UAE, Indo and others are all building new reactors (http://www.world-nuclear.org/inform...ear-power-reactors-and-uranium-requireme.aspx). The US is under pressure to extend the life of many of theirs. SMRs are coming into their own.
We're actually on the cusp of a 2nd nuclear golden age as the world wakes up to the fact that the propaganda has left us out of options.
