You make very good points. Shorters have the ability to artificially bring a good company down, just by promoting fear and selling big time. These are the kind I think people hate. But I don't have a problem with the shorters who are simply recognising the real flaws, corruption or baseless spin of a company and targeting them accordingly. These kind are activists, and I think they're good for the market.

I guess there's also the emotional response. I think it's just in our nature not to like people who bet on losers.
