Well you are right, he has spent two days in the Pilbara. But how does that makes him a "fountain of knowledge on the Pilbara."?

I dont doubt he has extensive experience with placer deposits, which allows him to have a certain viewpoint on Pilbara gold, so much so that he is one of the few geologists (actually the only geologist amongst many who have visited the area) to declare the deposit to be a "license to print money". He may even be right although Novos work to date is certainly not showing this to be the case, and he may well change his views if he returns to the Pilbara now that Novo have done more extensive sampling. His article is dated because it does not take into account the results obtained since it was written, and is merely a first impression. Many commentators have changed their views in recent times.
