I would not be surprised to see the WA government take up their shark warning system sometime soon ...

4 currently being trialled in WA - 2 in Margaret River, their most notorious spot ... recent fatal attack in Whitsundays (albeit QLD) to add the mounting fear before Summer. Could kill tourism for Aussie beaches

Shark encounters have doubled on WA beaches since last year despite spending $20M+ on drum lines etc. There is huge mounting pressure from the greens in WA to invest in prevention, detection and warning systems ... i.e like SP3's




Surf Life Saving WA automatically tweets all shark sightings @SLSLWA - they are non stop. This could easily feed into SP3's locally positioned Shark Warning System and immediately worn locals of the threat

Check out some of their tweets just in the past 24 hours !!! Shark seen circling a boarder, dead dolphin washing up on shore ... There appears no immediate way of relaying this to the locals, other than twitter. Bit hard if they are in the water or on the beach
