With all the high speed algo stuff going on it would be a miracle to be tracking that to any great extent multiplied over all the Australian shares on Mr Market.

The 6% of shares have not been chucked in the nearest skip as unloading implies, someone has bought them and in some cases previous owners.

If A sells 30000 to B then there is a volume of 30000.
If B sells back to A then there is a cumulative volume of 60000
And everyone has the same number they started with and scared the pants off the nervous nellies in the meantime.
