Don’t lose interest in HC. All up, you gain a lot more than you lose. Quite often, I’ve found that the information gleaned is really to your benefit. Sometimes (unfortunately), comments are made from those with little information but like to stand up on their soapbox and be heard for the sake of being heard, or who “think” they have all the answers, Then there are those who have been burnt, sometimes badly, and their views often are very unintentionally distorted, And sadly there are also the trading for profit rampers in the cooking pot as well. So you need to keep all of this in mind as I’m sure you already do, being an experienced investor.
As regards AMG, they are one of many companies I hold stocks in. I’ve stated in previous posts my following of several of their directors in past ventures/careers with other companies. And it is this experience and connection that I bring to HC and anyone wanting a little guidance with this company. If Matt Morgan, the MD, is putting out “good/excellent” announcements about AMG, then I would be believing him totally. He is a very, very dedicated MD and geologist and I believe from the past companies he has been involved with and which have done well, that this is a mine company that he wants a similar outcome for. I can also say the same for Geoff Kidd who is directing the Burra team.
It is this past association and success with this BOD that I am very comfortable with saying that what you read in the announcements is right on the button. They aren’t about to put a blot on their copy books.
I can also understand the negative comments (especially from those burnt from previous investments). You will need to DYOR. But my one bit of advice is to look at who the BOD is, the ones spear heading the company, and not just the shareholders.
Cloncurry is currently the back bone of this company. As Eastwest mentioned, i agree that this is where “funds” will be realised for further exploration and drilling especially in Burra.
xxx commented that with the 30klm target recently announced in Burra, they should ‘stick a hole in the guts’ just to get the followers to follow. Well this is the logical next stage granted but give them the time to get in all the results from the remaining MT survey before doing this. They are working with the University of Adelaide - surely the whole picture needs to be seen of the 7,000 sq kms in the Burra project before sticking a hole in somewhere. Patience is asked for as holes cost money and a lot of holes (and dollars) can be sunk in 7,000 sq klms.
Once again this is where my past experience with these directors speaks. They are thorough/meticulous, and like to tick all the boxes as they move forward (recall the tortoise and the hare race). Dollar wise, expenditure (and salaries) has been minimal to date. The AGM next week I believe will reflect this further.
I am very pleased that I have put my hard earned dollars in this company as I have with another gold exploration company BGL. And this is where I will leave it. DYOR please.
