Isn't thats what HT is all about, mechanical trading methods. If you had expected to learn about discretionary TA type trading than you haven't been listening or reading the notes at the seminar.
As a fan of Darly Guppy ( I read a few of his books too), I am sure you did find it beneficial to subscribe to the newsletter and so will all the readers of the various newsletters like Fat prophets, etc. The point is descritionary trading needs experience and skills that are accumulated over years to be effective. Mechanical trading methods are more scientific and requires sophisticated software to test the systems. It is like comparing oranges and apples.
I on the other hand trade both types of systems with fundamentals association so i am very comfortable with the results.
The experiences that you keep referring to doesn't make sense. Surely it is the skill that one is after and some pick it up much faster than others. I don't know which trainers you associated with but I learned a lot from my trainers.
