ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 14, 2018/PRNewswire/ -- Fraudsupport.org launched nationwide today. FraudSupport.org is a program created by the Cybercrime Support Network (CSN) to provide assistance to both individual and small business cybercrime victims. FraudSupport.org will lead cybercrime victims through the Report, Recover and Reinforce process after an incident occurs.
Using CSN's online resource, FraudSupport.org, victims of cybercrime will now have a central and standardized system for reporting crimes, accessing recovery tools and reinforcing their networks so that they are safer and more secure. CSN is working with the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to ensure reporting reaches their offices, when appropriate, to make sure local law enforcement agencies can access the data and more frequently prosecute the criminals.
"Millions of Americans are affected by cybercrime and online fraud each year. The resources they need are not coordinated and easy to find. Currently, those victims don't have one starting place to go and find the best resources to help them report, recover and reinforce their online accounts. Fraudsupport.org is that starting place. The team at CSN is dedicated to serving individuals and small businesses impacted by cybercrime and online fraud. We are proud to launch Fraudsupport.orgwith support from Craig Newmark Philanthorpies, Google, KnowBe4, AT&T, Comcast, and Arbor Insight," said Kristin Judge, President and CEO of Cybercrime Support Network (CSN).
FraudSupport.org is a resource database for victims and law enforcement. As a public-private nonprofit, CSN is building FraudSupport.org as the first nationwide initiative developed specifically to help cybercrime and online fraud victims find help after an incident occurs. "The better the national reporting data, the better the chance law enforcement can catch the criminals and decrease online crime. Reporting a fraudulent incident will also assure that victims have accurate documentation in order to aid in recovery," said Judge.
