Thank you Barry. It could be interesting to you to listen prof Birkmeyer's NADH presentation which relates somehow what I told here.
This NADH is a product of Krebs's cycle ( in the inner space of the mitochondrion) which then brakes down to water and at the same time it gives up it's proton to the middle space of mitochondrion. The protons in the middle space of mitochondrion can only get back to the inner space of mitochondrion through gates made of complex I ( ATP synthase) and this flow of protons produces energy which converts ADP to ATP ( oxidative phosphorylation).
Now prof. Birkmeyer is selling this NADH, a product of Krebs's cycle to be used in treatment of neurodegeneration or perhaps more clearly only the symptoms of neurodegeneration. I do not know at all any of his research reports, in fact I only found this youtube 3 days ago when looking NAD. In my understanding PBT434 could work a bit in the same way but targeting excess of iron which is hampering the function of mitochondria ( Krebs's cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, complex I and balance between mitochondrion fusion and fission).
