He was getting $300k+ before this appointment and as a former McKinsey specialist, he no doubt took a fair pay cut to come on board with Chalice. The reason you get into the junior space as a young exec isn't to take a larger salary (he could have done that by staying at McKinsey), it's to make large gains and start a prolific career. 

I like that Goyder has given Alex the reins, I'm glad that the option package he is being offered has an exercise price above the current price (25c). I believe that Alex has his incentives in line with shareholders, he's hungry and wants to make his career as an emerging executive. 

I would like to see him buy some shares on market. Looking forward to seeing the initial holdings statement.
