Well guys have been off work for a few weeks due to a crushed heel.
Gave me ample time to go over all my stocks and my past trading.
I have always worked for a living and still do. I was part of the Pilbara boom as a tradie and money was no object back then.
Things have turned a complete 360 and now I find myself scratching for work.
Have spent many hours watching and pretending I could be like the day traders, but they are a breed apart. I got chewed up and spat out many times.
Done a quick inventory of my confirmations from my first trade in GGP in December 2009 til today. I followed "The Speculator" religiously and that was when I blew most of it.
Out 2.1million
In 1.8million.
I have started to improve my strike rate this year, due to having the time to study and educate myself.
I have a few "day trades" left in my portfolio, along with some long termers. Most of them are in red except CTM in which I am free carried.
I intend selling everything on market Monday morning and starting afresh. Two stocks I can do nothing about, HDY and CIZ, seems they are destined to be a blight on my portfolio for some time yet. HDY/OC was EYM; my investment/gamble was 75K. Made the classic newbies mistake of constantly averaging down.
With the funds freed up I intend to be extra conservative, and put in place strategies that I have learnt over the years, mostly just recently.
I have a couple of stocks in mind that I think will suit my style of trading.
Thanks to @Endless-for his very pessimist approach , @madbutcher- for teaching me charts, @minoil- for being minoil, @mirren -for posting great charts and teaching us about them, @valvesound--for his great charts and 'tips', @john435-for his maps. @quantumtorus - for his irreverent take on anything, @Freehold for his tireless efforts in the STT,@Cleo for her openings and commentary throughout the day. @highlandlad for his afternoon openings, @forrestfield -for his steadyinghand.
Phew that took some effort lol.
Looking forward to spending more time in the STT forum and learning more from you guys. Hopefully in the future I will be confidant enough to contrbute.
