Ann: ACCC will not oppose acquisition of APA, page-43

I bought APA when they were first floated, if I had had a choice I would never have sold them , but the offer price was pretty good, too good to knock back I reckon, I believe the directors saw it that way too?
I had some personal reasons why the money would have come at a great time, I will now have to look at some other avenues, of course the price of APA will drop, but they are a good buy up to $10 IMHO.
I do think it is a good idea to keep the farm, but it wasn't as if they could take it all back to HK or China and it is regulated isn't it, OK, so were the electricity systems that were sold by various governments and the gas that has been sold off etc, the problem I see, isn't the asset itself, but a lack of regulation by both Governments here to keep prices at a fair level and also guarantee supply once the asset is sold, it was a lack of intestinal fortitude I believe and also the fact that one government will do the exact opposite, just to point score, even if it what suggested was in fact a good idea and was for the good of the country.
