"The Queensland government will on Friday release an extra 6600 square kilometres of land for gas exploration, including more than 900 square kilometres reserved for the domestic market, in a bid to help ease the east coast gas shortage.
"The new tenements being offered for exploration are south-west of Chinchilla in the Bowen and Surat Basins, both which are already key gas-producing regions supported by extensive pipeline and transport infrastructure.
"Tenders for the new tenements are now open and close on February 28.

I know a gas explorer interested in drilling Qld. Whether IPL would be willing to enlarge the existing $20m committed to ATP 2031 remains to be seen. They are a motivated customer and would certainly listen to CTP overtures. Simply spreading the existing commitment over the best prospects on double the area would be waved through.
An exciting year ahead. The newly appointed operations team have plenty to do.
