Personally I’m not concerned with MMJ’s investment in MediPharm Labs - I see this as a rock-solid investment in a cornerstone oil producer ahead of the market and given the premium on extracts over flower I certainly expect this sector to outperform.
As for MMJ’s investment in HVT - am still concerned over the lack of production buildout updates, they’ve sold all their product so no further revenue in the short to medium term, expenditure dramatically increasing - I’d be happy to see MMJ free up more capital from HVT (even at a loss) to invest in pre-IPO’s and even Increasing holdings in MediPharm through warrant conversion.
For the time being the Canadian Weed sector is subject to high levels of short selling - whether it’s big players looking for a stake or genuine belief on overvaluation concerns but the story is just beginning and only the strongest will stand on their own - the rest will be consolidated!
