He he. I don't do shorts either. Timing is not my forté and trying to be a catalyst for things is not my style either (even if I had the necessary clout).

I like that Buffett maxim that goes something along the lines of: Humans have a remarkable way of making simple things complicated.

Whenever I get the urge to do something exciting or complicated (which isn't often, mind you), I remind myself of that maxim.

The simplicity and elegance of buying a business for less than it's worth (or said differently, trying to get a lot for your money) is hard to beat.

PS: I suspected you weren't the type to say "I told you so" (I try not to be either). That's why I thought I'd do you the favor. ;-)

PPS: I personally think negative thesis' can be very instructive. For instance, when I posted that negative thesis about FRM nothing came back to shake my thesis, in my own estimation (despite the widespread excitement for the stock at the time). This was valuable information, as it reinforced the thesis in my own mind. It is also very instructive about market psychology. The psychology behind human identity means "fans" have a powerful incentive to defend their "position". Harnessing this incentive can be a great tool.
